The public fund "Rural Development Fund" (RDF) implements the Program to support local communities to inform and introduce mechanisms Access ; and Regulation, also separation ; Benefits (DRV) genetic resources in the Kyrgyz Republic
This Program is being implemented within the framework of the project "Further steps to preserve biological and cultural diversity through traditional knowledge in the Kyrgyz Republic". The project is aimed at strengthening the ability of local communities to improve their economic situation by preserving traditional knowledge (TK), protecting biological and cultural resources through the mechanisms of "Access and Equitable Benefit Sharing" (AWD). The project's activities are aimed at ; exploring the possibilities for introducing the DRV system in local communities, through informing and informing the population about access and sharing the benefits from the use of genetic resources (GR) and traditional knowledge (TK), in strengthening the capacity of the pastoral Network (custodians of traditional knowledge) "Kyrgyz el akyl kazyna" ; (KEAK) in conducting research on DRV, and creating conditions for establishing a dialogue between all stakeholders on its promotion in the country.
PURPOSE OF THE SMALL PROJECT PROGRAM:

The tasks of small projects are:
Awareness of local communities on ABS issues from the use of genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge.
Creation of a platform for dialogue between all stakeholders on the implementation of the DRV regimes.
Providing micro-grants to local communities for conducting research activities, exchange of experience, information.
MAIN STAGES OF THE PROGRAM:
At the first stage of the implementation of the micro-grant program, local communities were preliminarily studied, where there are various experiences and skills in the application of traditional knowledge on genetic resources.
The second stage - the stage of collecting micro-grant ideas for the implementation of the DRV mechanism in Kyrgyzstan. At this stage, members and leaders of the CEAC pastoral network across regions from communities with experience in the use of genetic resources were actively involved.
The third phase of the program is based on a selection of community-provided ideas on genetic resources and associated TK.
The fourth stage is the stage of implementing micro-grant ideas, RDF provides consulting and technical support in the process of implementing micro-grant ideas with the involvement of environmental specialists and experts from research organizations.
The final stage of the micro-grant Program "Zher bailigy - El bailigy" is the organization of community festivals, actions at the places of implementation of small projects, where the results of the implemented micro-grants will be presented.
