Alina Jenishbekova, a young researcher from RDF participated in the training "Quantitative methods for assessing livestock impacts on biodiversity" within the framework of FAO's LEAP (Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance) program. On July 24-26 the training was held in online format, where representatives from the Central Asian region and Caucasus participated; on July 31 we participated in offline format, in Bishkek. The last session will be on August 18 in online format.
The training was attended by representatives from the National Livestock Research Institute, Agency for Development Initiatives (ADI), Kyrgyz Association of Forest and Pasture Users (KAFLU), Institute for Sustainable Development (ISDS) and our other partners.
In her opinion, and the opinion of other participants of the training, the acquired knowledge can be used for a more systematic study of the impact of livestock farming in vulnerable areas of natural landscapes, the state of key biodiversity species, in particular Lake Son-Kul and other ecosystems.
