What We Do

Launch of a new project on water resources management

At the end of March 2011, RDF launched a new project "Horizontal Training on Effective Water Resources Management at the LSG Level" aimed at strengthening the capacities and capabilities of local self-governments. The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of LSG bodies in providing irrigation services to the population through successful partnership with local water user associations. The project covers 120 aiyl okmotu in Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken provinces of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It is expected that as a result of the project, the trained local government representatives from each target aiyl okmotu will be able to disseminate the acquired knowledge to other aiyl okmotus in the field of water resources management.

The project is supported by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the world's largest regional security organization, and is implemented by several partners, including RDF:

- Business and Legal Development Fund, LARC,

- Development Policy Institute (DPI),

- Civil Society Support Center (CSSC)

- Foundation for International Solidarity (FTI).
