The final event of the Step Up project, implemented by the Rural Development Fund with the support of the European Union, took place in Bishkek. The project was aimed at empowering children and young people in difficult life situations.
One of the main goals of the project was to give young people a chance to believe in themselves, unlock their potential and look confidently at their future. The participants were more than 1,000 beneficiaries from vulnerable groups, including boarding school pupils, students of vocational schools and young people from low-income families.
During the project, training programs were conducted, educational process conditions were improved, and psychological support and events were provided to develop life and obtain digital skills. Today, we can proudly note real changes in the lives of the participants: acquired knowledge, professions, skills that give confidence and new steps forward. The final event became not only a point of resuming the results, but also a platform for open dialogue. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Scientific Medical Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, international organisations, educational institutions and representatives of the media, universities, and public organisations took part in the discussion. Active young people from specialised vocational schools, as well as beneficiaries from vulnerable youth in the country's regions, demonstrated their achievements at the Exhibition and Fashion Show with their sewing products, confectionery products, art therapy products, and others.
