The goals of the project are: 1) to preserve and increase the snow leopard population in Kyrgyzstan; 2) to improve their habitat through the revived traditional knowledge; and 3) to increased public awareness about this rare species of Northern and Western Tien Shan through engaging local communities in their protection.
The project is funded by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF), USA, with consulting support of the Christensen Fund, USA, and will be implemented in Chui and Talas regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
