Training Series "Medicinal Plants and Methods of Their Cultivation" - Go Green Project

The activities within the Go Green Project included a series of training for farmers. The main objective of the training was not only to train farmers to plant medicinal plants but also to contribute to climate change mitigation by developing an agricultural value chain model that values biodiversity, adapts production to environmental challenges, increases productivity and develops social and local agribusiness.

As reported by the participants, training focused on medicinal plants and the method of their cultivation was conducted successfully in three regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. The trainings were attended by farmers and representatives of local communities from Talas, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions.
The training program was conducted over two days: the theoretical part was given on the first day, and practical exercises were conducted on the second day. Practical exercises were organized in the regional forestry enterprises.

The main team of trainers consisted of experts:
  1. Rogova Natalya Aleksandrovna - Researcher at the Laboratory of Medicinal and Essential Oil Plants, Institute of Chemistry and Phytotechnology of the National Academy of Sciences in Kyrgyz Republic.
  2. Asanaliev Turusbek Usenovich - agronomist. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry.
  3. Algozhoeva Zhanar Zarlykovna - an expert on traditional Kyrgyz knowledge about medicinal herbs, chairman of the public fund "Amanat-Omur", leader of KEAK (Kyrgyz El Akyl Kazyna) in Chui region.

We especially want to note the participants of our training for their interest, enthusiasm, desire to gain new knowledge and preserve the nature of Kyrgyzstan.
