Kadam Initiative in COVID-19 Emergency Situations


With the support of the Soros Foundation, RDF launches the Kadam Initiative to support families in Kyrgyzstan to strengthen the humanitarian response and improve psychosocial well-being during the COVID-19 emergency through the Kyrgyz El Akyl Kazyna - KEAK - Traditional Heritage Guardians Network.

Objectives of the Kadam Initiative:
Supporting government response officials such as police at checkpoints by providing disposable masks and traditional Kyrgyz mobile food such as kuurma chai and pilaf, as well as the beneficial collection of medicinal herbs and berries;
Supporting the restoration of moral support within the community that affect their lives, as well as the formation of feelings of "self-responsibility" for maintaining the health of the community through online performances of famous people from the region, as politicians, people of art, science, business and creativity with an appeal to fellow countrymen and interesting stories;
Internal mobilization of the family in the COVID-19 situation through online fairy tales, presentations with stories about the traditions of unity and friendship from the keepers of traditions and rituals, members of the CEAC Network.

The Kadam Initiative includes the following activities:

Support for police officers at checkpoints in 7 regions of the country through the provision of disposable medical masks and food through regional representatives of the CEAC Network;
Speeches of famous personalities - "immigrants" from the region, as politicians, people of art, science, business and creativity with an appeal to fellow countrymen and interesting stories about the importance of patience, mutual assistance, self-organization;
Online fairy tales, performances with stories about the traditions of family unity and friendship from the keepers of traditions and rituals, members of the KEAK Network.
Initiative " KADAM"
