On October 18, 2011, within the framework of the project "Strengthening the capacity of women and vulnerable groups of communities to restore peace and harmony in Kyrgyzstan" funded by UN Women, a final meeting to discuss the results of the grant component of the project was held in Osh with the participation of leaders of the implemented micro-project groups, heads of district Women's Peace Committees, representatives of partner organizations, such as the Network of Women Peacemakers of Kyrgyzstan, PF "For International Tolerance", NGO "Association of Women Entrepreneurs", as well as representatives of local NGOs.
Grant component activities began in the spring of 2011 and were aimed at promoting women's more active participation in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and peace and good-neighbourliness.
As part of the project, RDF developed and implemented the grant component (sub-grant program) of the project, in the process of which it selected and funded micro-project ideas aimed at peacebuilding and conflict prevention, as well as evaluated and monitored micro-projects in the process of their implementation. Training sessions were held for representatives of the specially created Network of Women Peacebuilders on how to develop proposals for microprojects, and the microgrant program was implemented in two stages. The final event will be the finishing touch of the project, where project participants will be able to discuss at one table the difficulties and successes, as well as lessons learned during project implementation, and ideas for future joint activities.
